Viva Pit Senyor and thank you Senyor Santo Nino for a successful First Sinulog Festival here on the Gold Coast. We were blessed with a beautiful sunny but not so warm weather which was reflected in the smiles and anticipation of a mostly devout group of Filipinos eager to welcome the New Year with a Fiesta to our Beloved Senyor Santo Nino – Patron of Cebu, the Philippines and the World. Words cannot describe our gratitude to the trio of priests – Father Dom, Father Jan and Father Terry for gracing our fiesta and blessing our Santo Nino statues. The Blessing was a solemn one, tinged with nostalgia of fiestas in our beloved Philippines, which today was a plead from the Gold Coast community for Senyor Santo Nino to guide our Filipino Community in Queensland into the future embracing our Catholic faith and our Filipino Heritage. In this foreign land which we have now called “Our Home” the Filipino people remain steadfast in prayer, and religion continues to play a part of our daily life and those of our children. Senyor Santo Nino, you are our King and Our God, we worship you , adore you and glorify you now and forever. VIVA PIT SENYOR SANTO NINO!!! |
